One of the worries is green technology or solar-powered gears might not work as powerful as the regular fuel-powered gears do. But after reading this post, you shall realize that how powerful a solar-powered plane can go and it's even achieved three world records for longest flight.
The solar-powered plane that's achieved the said world records is the Zephyr solar plane, which has been confirmed official by TreeHugger.
The three world records of the Zephyr solar plane are summarized as follows: 1) absolute duration of an unmanned autonomous vehicle (UAV) flight, 2) flight duration for a UAV of its class (unmanned craft weighing 50-500kg), and 3) altitude record for a UAV of its class (21,562m/70,741ft).
